Hello! I am Aidan Katson, a second-year PhD student at University of California, Santa Cruz. I am primarily interested in theoretical syntax, semantics, and their interfaces, with particular regard to time, clause-embedding nouns, non-finite clauses, and nominalizations.
I am currently the student coordinator of S-Circle at UCSC with faculty coordinator Roumi Pancheva.
My primary advisor is Maziar Toosarvandani.
I speak English and Spanish, am a heritage speaker of Japanese (basic to intermediate proficiency), and have basic knowledge of French and Mandarin. I also have an interest in performing fieldwork in the near future.
Upcoming: I’ll be giving a talk at WCCFL this April, tentatively titled, “Korean honorification as a window to understanding animacy”.
